For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, โAbba, Father.โโฆand if children, then heirsโheirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
(Romans 8:15-17 NKJV)

A man of God that I follow once shared an issue that a certain lady brought to him. She came running and panicking, explaining that someone had placed a voodoo charm on her seat at work. Terrified, she rushed to her pastor for help. The man of God was deeply disappointed that, despite all the years she had spent in the Church, she still couldn’t exercise her faith and authority in Christ.
As Christians, we possess many inheritances in Christ (Rom 8:17). Sadly, many Believers are unaware of them. Ignorance of who we are and what we have has led many to live in fear and defeatโeven though we are, in truth, victors and conquerors in Christ (Hos 4:6). Some spend much time praying for things that are already theirs in Christ.
There is a great need for Christians to discover who we are, what we have, and what our inheritance in Christ entails. Church leaders must devote time to teaching these truths. Unfortunately, many leaders themselves are unaware of this identity.
Some even misuse the Old Testament to guide Believers to pray for deliverance from cursesโwhen the Word clearly states that Christ has already become a curse for us (Gal 3:13). Worse still, some leaders know the truth but intentionally ignore it, using lies to manipulate and exploit the vulnerable.
Beloved in the Lord, the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross did not just bring us forgivenessโit granted us access to abundant blessings and inheritance. Ignorance of this truth robs many of their victory and joy in the Lord. Therefore, let us diligently seek to understand and live out our identity in Christ. We are more than conquerors!
Prayer Point:
Let us thank God for His Word today. Let us ask the Lord to help all Believers around the world discover and live in the full knowledge of our true identity in Christ.
God bless you all.
