Title: ย Stop the complaints and fight!

7 The Lord said, โI have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honeyโthe home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 9 And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. Exodus 3:7-9
2 In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. 3 The Israelites said to them, โIf only we had died by the Lordโs hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.โ Exodus 16:2-3
When we read the story of the Israelites going through the wilderness, it is easy for us underlook them and say that they complained a lot and were stubborn people. But sometimes when we are going through wilderness seasons, we (myself included) find ourselves doing the same: complaining.
However, God’s plans for us are good, though the process may not seem good, but just like with the Israelites, where He is taking us to (The promised land) is far better than where we came from (Egypt or slavery).
Therefore, we need to stop complaining and trust God. We need to stop complaining and give thanks for what He has done already, even as we await and pursue what He has promised. We need to stop complaining and take up our spiritual weapons and fight back the enemy who comes to prevent us from obtaining that which the Lord has promised.ย
Someone may say, “Well, why do we have to fight at all? Why didn’t God make everything easy?” My brother, my sister, He is God, and in His infinite wisdom and goodness, He has made it as it is. But come to think of it. If there is no challenge, would you really appreciate or enjoy the victory? So perhaps God made it so to make life interesting. You fight, you win, you celebrate. Fight all through His grace.
Complaining makes the challenges we face even harder than they already are. Because it blinds you to your advantages. Aside from the lack of faith or trust in God, another cause of complaining is laziness. Jesus said,ย โGet up! Pick up your mat and walkโ. Imagine the lame man didn’t put any effort into getting up, would he have been healed? (Yes, I know it was by faith, but faith also requires you to take a step)
Repeat after me, “Today, I cease from complaining. I am a champion, I am an overcomer, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Amen”.
However, asking in prayer is not the same as complaining. Ask sincerely. The Lord knows and He cares, but give thanks and trust. (Philippians 4:6-7,ย 1 Peter 5:7, Romans 8:28)
Prayer Point:
Let’s thank God for this word today. Let’s ask God to help us reject all inspirations to complain rather to pray, give thanks and fight back by His grace.
