โ€œEven to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.โ€
(Isaiah 46:4 NKJV)

There was a time when the people of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. They forsook the God who had delivered them out of Egypt, turning instead to idols and engaging in all kinds of sin. In response, the Lord allowed the Babylonian empire to conquer and enslave them.

Yet even in their rebellion, God did not forget them. In His mercy, He promised to deliver themโ€”and He fulfilled that promise by empowering Cyrus, king of Persia, to overthrow Babylon and set the captives free (Is 45).

Through the prophet Isaiah, God reminded the exiled Israelites of His power and enduring faithfulness. In Isaiah 46, He draws a clear distinction between the helpless idols of Babylonโ€”carried on the shoulders of menโ€”and Himself, the living God who carries His people. From birth to old age, He bears, sustains, and delivers.

This is not just beautiful poetry; it is a divine promise. Unlike the things we often trust inโ€”money, achievements, or statusโ€”God does not become a burden in difficult times. He is the burden-bearer.

Even when we are weak, confused, or weary from lifeโ€™s challenges, God remains strong. He carried us yesterday, He is carrying us today, and He will carry us tomorrow. His faithfulness doesnโ€™t expire with time or change with circumstances. It is eternal.

The Lord declares that His purposes will stand, and His plans will be fulfilled (Is 55:11). Just as He had a purpose for Israel, He has a purpose for you (Jer 29:11; 33:3). You are not forgotten. He knows exactly what He is doing. And Heโ€™s not finished with you yet.

Beloved in the Lord, when you feel overwhelmed or abandoned, remember this: God is carrying you. Not only in your strength, but especially in your weakness. Not only in your youth, but even to your gray hair. Trust Him with all your heart, for whatever He has begun in your life, He will faithfully bring to completion (Phil 1:6).

Prayer Point:

Letโ€™s thank God today for His unchanging and everlasting faithfulness. Letโ€™s ask Him to help all Believers trust Him with all our hearts, knowing that He will carry and sustain us to the very end.

God bless you all.
