Title: He cares

By:ย Dorcas Enim Enyan

Then Jesus said,โ€œCome to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and l will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

Hallelujah to the Most High God. We indeed serve a living God who remains and stays the same even when circumstances and the environment we find ourselves is constantly changing. We live in a world of upgrades; literally, everything around us is changing, modified, and progressing, including its people. I believe we are all familiar with the phrase โ€œNew Year New Meโ€, which is evident that not only are things around us changing, but people around us have the desires to change.

Nevertheless, l have good news for you today, which is to point you to a Saviour, the Redeemer, The I AM, Creator of the Universe, Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Taking a view of the bible from Genesis to Revelation, we see how God has revealed himself through His creation and His word to us (His Children), that we may come to the knowledge of Him. We are very much privileged because of the access, through the Holy Spirit, to a revelation of Him that people of old could not attain. The fact that God does not change means He can be trusted, He is dependable. Situations can change a good man to a bad person, but God remains the same, no matter the situation.

In our scriptural verse for today, Jesus invites His children to come to him freely with every load and burden in exchange for His rest. This is a clear proof of His love and care, as the bible says in Psalm 55:22, โ€œCast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shakenโ€. What a good Father we have, who even before we came into existence He knew us and had a plan for us (Jeremiah 1:5; 29:11). God never promised that trials and temptation will cease, But He said in John 16:33 โ€œI have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the worldโ€.

There is an assurance for you today and forevermore, but the decision can only be made by you. Jesus is presenting you an offer the world is not capable of giving. Accept His invitation of unloading your burdens for your Father truly cares for you.
