โ€œFinally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.โ€
(Ephesians 6:10 NKJV)

ย

There is a story of a young carpenter who entered his workshop early one morning, full of energy and determination. His tools were ready, his plans were clear, and his heart was set on accomplishing great work. But as he began, he realised something was wrong. The tools felt heavy, the wood resisted every cut, and nothing worked as it should. After a while, he discovered the problem โ€” he had forgotten to connect his equipment to the power source. The tools were good, but without power, they could do nothing.

This simple story reflects the experience of many Christians today. We begin our days with good intentions, spiritual knowledge, and a desire to honour God. But when pressure rises, when temptation comes, or when spiritual battles intensify, we quickly realise that our human strength is not enough. Just like the carpenterโ€™s tools, we need power greater than our own.

Paul concludes his letter to the Ephesians with a powerful command: โ€œBe strong in the Lord (Eph 6:10).โ€ He does not tell us to depend on our own abilities or emotions. He points us to the true and only source of spiritual strength โ€” the Lord Himself. Before he speaks about the armour of God, he reminds us that victory begins not with equipment but with connection. We must first draw strength from the One who never grows weary, never fails, and never loses a battle.

To be strong in the Lord means relying on His strength in prayer, trusting His Word above our feelings, and standing firm in His promises when circumstances challenge our faith. It means refusing to fight spiritual battles with natural strength and instead depending wholly on the might of God. When we lean on His strength, we find stability in weakness, courage in fear, and victory in the midst of opposition.

Beloved in the Lord, as we come before God today, let us acknowledge our deep need for His strength. We cannot win lifeโ€™s battles on our own, but through Christ, we are more than conquerors. His power is limitless, His grace is sufficient, and His might is made perfect in our weakness. Stay connected to Him, and you will stand firm in every season.

Prayer Point:

Let us thank God for being our unfailing source of strength. Letโ€™s ask the Lord to help us to rely not on our own strength but on His divine power, that we may walk in victory and glorify His name in all we do.

God bless you all.
