โ€œAs it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.โ€
Matthew 24:37 (NIV)

Recently, we received an instruction from the Holy Spirit to focus on the end times in our daily programme, โ€œRevival Hour,โ€ on Wisdom Media. After I shared the instruction with my team, I discerned in my spirit, โ€œAs it was in the days of Noah, there will be mockers.โ€ I shared this with my wife, and she told me that the same thing had come to her heart.

Noah was warned of a coming flood that would take all lives on the earth. In preparation for this event, he received a blueprint for building an ark designed to preserve lives during the flood (Genesis 6โ€“7). Being described as a preacher of righteousness, Noah tried persuading the people of his generation about the impending end of life on earth, but he was largely ignored. As Scripture says, โ€œThey were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the arkโ€ (Matthew 24:38, NKJV).

In Noahโ€™s time, only seven others, together with him, were saved from the coming flood. As it was for Noah, so it will be for those mandated to prepare the Body of Christ for the end times. Scripture affirms that there will be scoffers in the last days (2 Peter 3:3). Therefore, we as His ministers must develop thick skin toward mockers and remain focused on the assignment, just as Noah did in his generation.

The majority did not believe Noah, and neither will the majority believe us. Therefore, our eyes should not be on the number of people in our gatherings or those responding to our messages. Instead, we should focus on and find joy in doing the will of God. Jesus Himself despised the shame, and we too must do the same. Since we have put our hands to the plough, let us not look back (Luke 9:62).

Faithfulness is not judged by the number of people who respond to your message, but by obedience to what He has commanded you to do. As His servants and friends, let our joy be found simply in doing His will, and not in how people respond to the message we are given to deliver.

Prayer Points

  • Let us thank God for His Word today.
  • Let us ask God for the grace to do His will joyfully, not minding the scoffers of our time.
