Call To Prayer
Title: Restoration

But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.(Isaiah 42:22 KJV)
The story of the prodigal son is loaded with many lessons to draw and learn from, and one of them is the restoration of the dignity the young man had lost when he wasted his inheritance in a far country and became a labourer. Stripped of dignity and hungry to the point of desiring to eat what the pigs were eating. His deliverance came when he humbled himself and returned home, and His father received him again as his son who was lost and now found. This is a typology of every sinner that returned home to the Father through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
Restoration has been made available by God for the triune nature of man: for his spirit, for his soul and for his body. Ever since man fell in the garden, God had been yearning to restore man back to himself. After the flood, he blessed Noah and his children with the same blessings he blessed Adam with (Gen. 9:1). He then sought out Abraham and began a journey through his lineage that ended with Jesus, who died for our sins and restored us back to God. So, if you feel lost about life and it seems meaningless, it is because you need to be restored back to God. Take that step today!
He also restores the soul. In Psalm 23:3, David gave an account of how God restores his soul. When we go through unpleasant circumstances, some might even be traumatic. These have a tendency of destabilising us mentally and might make us restless, on edge, anxious, angry or even depressed, but when the Prince of peace steps in, he alone has the power to calm the raging storm in our soul and make us whole again. For peace of mind, we must continually hope in God, who is the help of our countenance and our God (Ps 42:11). We must do away with fear and worry. Having strong hope in the ability of God over our situations brings restoration to the mind.
Finally, God restores the body and things that we might have lost in the physical. God restored Job to a greater estate than he was before his ordeal with Satan. It is this same agenda of restoration that brought Joseph to the Palace when he thought his dream was no longer worth it. God restored that woman who was bent and couldn’t lift herself (Luke 13:11-13). The ministry of Jesus and the apostles was also filled with diverse healings for anyone sick in their body.
All of these are restorations that God has in His plan for us when we call on Him. So, our duty today is to call on Him to restore us.
Prayer point:
Let us thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to restore us in every area of life that needs His restoration.
