The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. ย (2 Peter 3:9 NKJV)
ย
There are moments when heaven feels quiet and Godโs promises seem delayed. Questions rise in the heart: Why has God not acted yet? Why has the answer not come? Why has Christ not returned? Scripture reminds us today that Godโs silence is not forgetfulness. His delay is not neglect. His waiting is mercy.
The Word tells us that the Lord is longsuffering. He is patient, not because He is weak, but because He is compassionate. What we sometimes call delay is God giving room for repentance, space for return, and time for salvation. Every sunrise is evidence that grace is still speaking.
Godโs heart has never been destruction. From the beginning, He has desired life. He declared through the prophet that He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but desires that they turn and live (Eze 33:11). Judgment will come, but mercy always comes first.
This season of patience is not permission to live carelessly. It is an invitation to return fully to God. The delay of judgment increases our responsibility. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, and grace must not be taken lightly. The same chapter reminds us that the day of the Lord will come suddenly (2 Pet 3:10).
If God has been patient with you, it is because He loves you. If He has not yet closed the door, it is because He is still calling your name. Let His kindness lead you to repentance (Rom 2:4).
Beloved in the Lord, do not mistake the mercy of God for delay. Do not mistake patience for approval. Today is the day to turn, to surrender, and to walk in holiness while there is still time.
Prayer Point:
Let us thank God for His mercy that gives room for repentance and restoration. Letโs ask the Lord to help us to live ready, holy, and obedient, knowing that His promises will surely come to pass.
God bless you all!
