Title: The King Is Coming

“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
(Matthew 24:27 NKJV)

During a heavy storm, lightning suddenly flashes across the sky with such brightness and power that nobody can ignore it. In the same way, Jesus Christ teaches that His second coming will be sudden, visible, and undeniable. No one will need to announce His arrival, for the whole world will know that the King has come (Rev 1:7).

In Matthew 24, Jesus warned His disciples about deception in the last days. Many false prophets and false christs would arise seeking to mislead people. Yet Christ clearly declared that His return would not be secret or hidden. Just as lightning shines from east to west, His coming will be openly revealed in power and glory. Believers are therefore called to remain spiritually alert and firmly grounded in the Word of God, so they will not be deceived.

The return of Jesus Christ is not merely a future event to discuss but a reality that should shape the way we live each day. The Lord is calling His Church to readiness, holiness, faithfulness, and perseverance. Many people are consumed with the cares of this world while neglecting their spiritual lives, but Christ reminds us that we must always be prepared because no one knows the exact hour of His appearing (1 Thess 5:2).

This does not mean believers should live in fear, but rather in hope and expectation (Ti 2:13). For those who belong to Christ, His coming is a glorious promise of eternal joy, victory, and redemption. Therefore, we must continue praying, serving God faithfully, walking in holiness, and encouraging others to repent and turn to the Lord while there is still time.

Beloved in the Lord, let us not become spiritually asleep or distracted by the temporary things of this world. Let us remain watchful, faithful, and prepared, knowing that one day the skies will open and our King will return in glory.

Prayer Point:

Let us thank the Lord Jesus Christ for the promise of His glorious return. Let us ask Him to keep us spiritually alert, faithful, and grounded in His Word so that we may be found ready when He appears.
