Title โ€“ย Launch into the deep

Luke 5:4-5 – 4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, โ€œLaunch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.โ€ 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, โ€œMaster, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless, at Your word, I will let down the net.โ€

The great catch is one of the most compelling stories in the Bible. In our message for today, we take some insights from the story. Peter and the other fishermen had worked all night as he said. Undoubtedly, they may have done all that needed doing but still could not get anything. With Peter answering that they had worked all night, it meant that they had gone into the deep. So why did they not have a catch anything then?

Now, we can learn two lessons from this story. First, abundance can only be gotten in the deep. In our walk with the Lord, there are certain blessings, revelations, and anointing that can be received only when we move into deeper realms. Being on the surface will only bring things on the surface. If an hour of prayer has earned you what you have now, then you must increase your prayer time to receive more. Endeavour to go deeper to receive greater.

Also, they toiled all night. They had probably gone into the deep but did not get anything. Why? Because they lacked the Word. The word of God is our manual for life. The word guides us in every journey we embark on in life. They did not get anything for their hard work because they did not have the authority, which was the Word from the Lord to back their efforts. But the moment the Word came, and they obeyed, they caught in abundance. Let thy Word guide you and be your reference point, and abundance will be waiting for you. Greater things are hidden in the deep, but it requires immense effort and guidance from the word of God to receive them. God bless you.

Prayer: Let us pray and thank God for His word today. Also, let us pray that the Spirit of God will grant us the grace and strength to launch into deeper realms in prayer and the word of God so that we can receive greater blessings and revelations.
