Be Fruitful

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.“ 

– Genesis 1:28

Whenever we hear the word „fruitful“ we think about a woman conceiving and giving birth to many children. The word „fruitful“ in the dictionary means to produce or to be fertile. Now the Bible uses the word „fruitful“ but that doesn’t mean „reproduction,“ the word „multiply“ rather means that. 

To be fruitful means to bear fruits, good fruits, and to blossom into the person you are meant to be. We were all created for a purpose, we are basically a seed unto this earth, meant to be fertile and yield good fruits which will benefit the earth.

No one was created by a mistake (John 9:3). Let’s look at this scenario: we have a mango tree outside, if this mango tree grows and it just produces leaves, it did not fulfil the purpose in which it was called to fulfil but if that mango tree produces juicy mango fruits, everybody from near or far will come and taste  some of its fruits. 

We are no different,  for God created us with purposes on the inside of us so when we fully blossom and become who we are intended to be, the fruit that you bear will bless and benefit your generations, glorifying the father who created us.

There was a time in the Bible when Jesus was hungry and wanted to eat from the fig tree and when He got there, the fig tree was dry and had no fruits. Jesus then cursed that fig tree to never bear fruits again, not because He was angry but because the tree didn’t fulfil its purpose which was to bear fruits (Mark 11:12-21).

The Bible says in Proverbs 18:16 that its our Gifts that make room for us and put us in the presence of great men and women. Just like the mango tree, it isn’t the size of the mango tree that attracts people but rather its juicy fruits. It’s the same thing with our Gifts; it draws men to us. Our Gifts are the reason why we were manifested in this generation at this specific time. We are to share with the world our gifts and if we don’t do that, we rob our generation and we don’t glorify our father for what He intended to do with us.

Beloved, when we use our Gifts to positively impact the world, we operate in God-given dominion and leadership (1Peter 4:10). We also become part of those who are wiling for the Kingdom of God to be known to all men.

 „As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world (John 9:4-5).“

Prayer Point: 

Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask God to help all believers around the world to bear good fruits and to fulfil our purposes here on earth.
