And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. (Exodus 17:11 KJV)

One of the most proven ways to get results is by doing but this does not apply in all cases because doing entails skills and technicalities. Not everyone is endowed with all the skills required in carrying out certain tasks but there is a way out.

In our text today, Israel was in battle with the Amalekites and Moses the man of God did the unthinkable. He went and stood on the hill with his hands raised and as long as the hands were raised, Israel was winning the battle against the enemy. What determined the victory was not how skillful Joshua and the soldiers of Israel were or the weapons they were using at the battlefield. The major determinant for their victory was the spiritual force drawn from above through the anointing upon Moses, the man of God.

So many people today depend on their effort but as children of God, that is not supposed to be because we have access to the anointing. When effort is coupled with the anointing, the result is always outstanding (Zech. 4:6). The anointing practically puts us in charge of situations and also gives us the ability to command results. Impossible tasks because a piece of cake with the help of the anointing. A seemingly young shepherd became a mighty King in Israel because of the anointing over his life and did so well that the world is still talking about him today. When you are anointed, you become untouchable and you enjoy divine immunity when ruling in the midst of your enemies (Psalm 45:4-7). To prosper in the things of God, this same anointing is the answer.

As we step into the second half of the year, we must crave for the anointing over our lives both to dominate lifeโ€™s circumstances and to secure our domain. The anointing is priceless and should top our list of cravings. Because the spiritual controls the physical, our focus should therefore not be on ephemeral things but that which controls it at will.

Prayer point:

Letโ€™s thank God for His word. Letโ€™s ask Him to anoint us afresh for this second half of the year in all we do.

God bless you!
