Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19)
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.(1 Peter 4:10)
God’s intention and great plan is that man should perpetually maintain an everlasting relationship with him right from the creation. It was unfortunate that Man failed to fulfil that unmerited privilege by yielding to the temptation of the Devil through the serpent, which the consequences led to pronouncement of hardship to both Adam and Eve, although different punishments were justly meted. Now, ever since the tragic first fall of man, the Almighty God has been exploring and searching for a ‘restoration‘ to the beautiful relationship He once had with humans by raising Prophets, Priests, Judges and to some extend Kings that will reveal His will to His people. As a matter of fact, since the day human beings fell short of the glory of God, that was when ‘Sin‘ was predominantly introduced into the bloodstream of Man, and the Almighty God is pure and Holy (1 Peter 1:15-17). It is abundantly clear that God is Holy, Heaven is holy, the Angels are Holy, likewise all the inhabitants of Heaven. So, He out rightly hates anything sinfulย despite His faithful love to both the wicked and Righteous.
Despite the intervention of God’s mercy and patience, men have continuously dwelt in rebellion by abusing the kindness of God by involving in all manner of wickedness, moral decadence and chromic depravity. As a result of their perversion, God is grieved, however, the Holy Bible made us understand that “Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” (Ezekiel 33:11).
God in His infinite Wisdom has then arranged a permanent solution to the lingering barriers and wall of partition between Himself and the wonderful products of His Sovereign greatness which are His creations (Human beings) by various prophecies, visions, dreams concerning the final salvation of Mankind. These He revealed through powerful men of ages like Moses, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, David and Isaiah. He wielded for amazing greatness.ย This final escape to eternal punishment (meant for Devil and his angels) is JESUS CHRIST. He is the way, truth and Life (John 14:6). Jesus as the pathway to the Father “saves us from law of sin and death” and has given us a great mandate to preach about the Good news of salvation. It is awesome to attain worldly prosperity, career breakthrough, financial freedom, and obtain political power or global fame but it is most pleasurable and fulfilling to serve the Almighty God, the chief host of the heavenly realm, the one bigger than the biggest, higher than the highest, everlasting God is He.
If we can give our all into achieving vanity why not invest in God who is a faithful rewarder of them that diligently serve him? Serving God is not all the time about evangelism or preaching, but by first impacting in people positively. We can serve God in various capacities most especially in contemporary days. Living a godly life by loving people is another act of serving God, checking up on people around you is also sharing the love of God. We can also serve God in our respective fields of engagements such as businesses, schools, area of professionalism and all other sectors of life. We should inculcate the zeal and passion of service for God even through our regular conversations with known and random people, telling them about the love of Jesus. If we sincerely ask ourselves of all the people that die daily, how many accepted Jesus? how many do we ignore to tell about Jesus when we are privileged to meet once or in multiple occasions? Jesus said the harvest is plenty but the laborers are few! Let us make ourselves available for God’s service knowing it comes with bountiful eternal reward.
Prayer point:
Let us ask God to give us the grace and needed zeal to serve him faithfully in all ramifications of our lives.
