But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. [33] And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. (Numbers 13:31,33 KJV)

Every time God is set to visit his people, he would have prepared and made available all that is needed to bring his word to pass. However, the limitation of human beings could become a stumbling block to the fulfillment of this purpose.

Just like the ten spies in our opening text, Moses had all the physical reasons why he was inadequate to be used by God but because he was pre-ordained, God brought Aaron his brother to fill in for his inadequacies. The most important thing God needed was his heart. These spies turned the people with their negative report against Moses and against God and non of them saw the promised land (Num 14:23).

Two men had personal encounters with Jesus with different attitudes. The first was the man by pool of Bethesda. Jesus came to him out of all that were sick beside that river and asked if he wanted to be healed (Jn 5:6-9). I thought he was supposed to jump at the offer but rather he was giving excuses as to why he had remained in that position of stagnancy for that long even though Jesus the saviour was in front of him. In contrast , the second was a blind man called Bartimaeus who Jesus didnโ€™t pay any attention to but rather enforced his own testimony by crying loudly, calling on Jesus for mercy and he stopped and restored his sight (Mark 10:46-52).

Our attitude in times of Godโ€™s visitation will go a long way in either barring or allowing his move in our lives. Eagerness, willingness of heart and submission are some of the requirements that is expected from us as his children. May we never miss his time of visitation for our lives.

Prayer point:
Letโ€™s thank God for His word today. Letโ€™s pray that God will mold our character and place his fire of love in our hearts. Also, that we will no longer give excuses but obey Him with diligence.

God bless you!
