Title โ€“ Evidence of His presence

Genesis 26:28 – But they said, โ€œWe have certainly seen that the LORD is with you. So we said, โ€˜Let there now be an oath between us, between you and us; and let us make a covenant with you.

One of my favourite quotes is that โ€œif the enemy does not pursue you, then probably God does not know youโ€. Trials and temptations are a sign that you are doing something good. Does that mean we should pray for trials to come? I do not believe so! However, if they come, the end result should build us up and demonstrate Godโ€™s glory in our lives. The battles that we fight are an indication that we are made of something. Sometimes, when the work of God in our lives is not completed yet, it may seem as though the devil is winning.

However, the most unfruitful battle any individual can fight on this earth is to fight someone under the shadow, blessings, and the protection of God. You cannot win a battle against such a person. That is what happened in the life of Isaac. When Abimelech, king of the Philistines, realised that nothing could hinder Isaac from prospering, they came to him to make an oath with him.

Now, what made Abimelech and the Philistines see that God was with Isaac? First, when Isaac settled in their land, the rate of his prosperity and riches was so rapid that he became wealthy in a short while (Genesis 26:12-15). As a result, they sent Isaac away from the land, and he settled in the Valley of Gerar. When Isaac dug the wells his father Abraham dug in his time, they quarreled with him over the wells and he relinquished control to them (Genesis 26:19-21).

Thus, the Philistines tried everything to hinder the manโ€™s prosperity in their land, but the more they tried, the more he prospered. Todayโ€™s message is an encouragement to us as children of God. We should endeavour to have a good relationship with God at all times, and His presence will never depart from us. Believe that in no time, God is going to bless you and vindicate you. Those that are fighting you now will soon come to make peace with you. You do not always have to prove yourself, let God prove Himself in your life.

Prayer:

Let us thank God for His word and the answers to our prayers. Let us pray that the presence of God should be with us at all times, especially in times of trials and difficulties so that we will not lose hope.
