Title: Rise Above the Hate and Envy
By: Daniel Peter
Date: 16.03.2022
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 50:20 NIV
The path that leads to the fulfilment of destiny is filled with lots of challenges and trials. God is fully aware of them, in fact, He ordained them. The reason He allows them is because of what happens in us when we overcome them. For this reason, every believer with a prophetic destiny must be aware that such exist and must learn to rise above them.
The bible is replete with stories of people who encountered many challenges on their path to the fulfilment of destiny: Joseph was rejected by His brothers and was almost killed by them simply because they were envious of him. We read how Potiphar’s wife lied about him and was sent to prison for two years because he stood for righteousness. David was chased by King Saul and had to live in the wilderness before God elevated him to the throne. And our Lord Jesus was rejected by those he was sent to and was delivered to be killed simply out of envy (Matt. 27:18). The suffering of these I have mentioned were not due to their sin, for they were righteous, they suffered because those they were sent to serve yielded themselves to the devil.
A heart that is not yielded to God becomes a tool for the enemy to use, this is the reason Jesus Christ warned us to be beware of men (Matt. 10:17). To overcome, there are things we should arm ourselves with so we can rise above the evil intent of some of the people we meet on the path to destiny’s fulfilment. Firstly, we have to know that though they mean their actions for evil, God will turn them for our good. This is referred to as the Joseph revelation, for we saw how the brothers sold him to Egypt because of hatred and envy. However, Egypt became his Eden, a place for the fulfilment of his dream. He became a saviour to Egypt and the old world, including his brothers. If they had not sold him, how will his dream be fulfilled? As evil as the situation looked, this was God’s strategy for his upliftment, and it was the same strategy He employed in enthroning our Lord Jesus, for the bible said “None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory ( 1 Cor. 2:8)”. Knowing that God will make all things work together for your good (Rom. 8:28), gives you peace amid the storm.
Secondly, being focused on God, the work He has committed to you, and the glory ahead is a show of your victory, for the reason the devil inspires men to act against you is to distract you from what God has committed to you. Again, being focused on the glory ahead numbs the pain you may be feeling today. This is the example the bible admonished us to emulate when it says “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Heb. 12:2 BSB)”
Prayer Point:
Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to help each one in the body of Christ to rise above every storm on their path to fulfilling destiny.
