Title: Don’t Be Ashamed of the Gospel of Christ

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

(Romans 1:16 NKJV)

When you consider all the things going on in this world, you can see that we are living in the end times, and I personally believe that the second coming of our Lord Jesus is fast approaching. However, there are so many people who haven’t still heard about His first coming. It therefore the duty of every Christian to make sure that all the people in the world are aware of this. It is our duty to make the world know that Jesus came to offer Himself as a sacrifice for their sins, and that when they believe and accept Him as their Lord and personal savior, their sins will be forgiven, and eternal life will be their portion (John 3:16).

This is the Gospel! It is Good News. The Good News is that we don’t have to work to earn our salvation or offer animal sacrifices for our sins to be forgiven but we just have to believe in Jesus Christ. The world has to be aware of this! We don’t have to be ashamed of this Gospel. The people in the world are not even ashamed to promote their evil acts like LGBTQ+, fornication, adultery, etc.

Why should we then be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ which is the solution to majority of the world’s problems? If you find a cure to HIV/AIDS, won’t you announce it to the whole world. If someone gifts you an iPhone or when you receive promotion at work, won’t you announce it to all your friends and family? Why then don’t we approach the Gospel in the same manner?

Beloved in the Lord, the harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matt. 9:37). There are many people in the world who haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal savior. Some of these people are our mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, cousins, next-door neighbors, work colleagues, classmates etc. They have been held bondage by the evil one, enslaved by sin, suffering, and don’t know what to do. However, we have the answer to their problems. How long can we watch them suffer when we have the solution?

It is by the preaching of the Gospel of Christ that sinners can be saved and transformed (Rom 10:14). Praying and interceding for salvation of souls is good but let’s not limit ourselves to only to prayers but use every opportunity to also preach the Gospel. There is time for prayers, and there is time to preach the Gospel. When we pray and intercede for people, God shows them Mercy and will send people into their lives to preach the Gospel to them. We have to also know that the people God will send can be you yourself because when you intercede for someone, you position yourself as a Vessel for God to use.

Beloved in the Lord, for one to be saved, he/she has to first confess the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in his/her heart that God has raised Him from the dead (Rom. 10:9-10). However, how can sinners believe and accept Jesus Christ into their lives if they haven’t even heard about Him and what He has done for the world, especially His sacrifice on the Cross and Resurrection? Where can they get this message from? It is only through a Preacher!

Prayer Point:

Let’s thank God for the gift of Salvation. Let’s ask the God of harvest to place the burden of salvation of souls in the hearts of all believers around the world. Let’s also ask God to help us to be more sensitive to the opportunities and doors He opens for preaching the Gospel.

God bless you all.
