“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

Heroes are gallant individuals who have distinguished themselves from common men by virtue of their courage, achievements, noble qualities and performance.  Just as the world is proud of its heroes, our heavenly Father too is proud of us His children for we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus by faith. Enoch was the first man mentioned in the Bible to have walked with God (Genesis 5:22-24). His walk for 300 years with God took him to heaven to be with God because He was pleased with his holy faith through his walk with Him. He was the first person to be translated from this earth to heaven by God so that he would not experience death. Subsequent great men who have made extensive sacrifices in their generation like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego were true heroes of God.

Faith pleases God and it is very essential in walking with Him. Where He finds faith, He rewards. Noah is called a hero of faith because of his holy lifestyle that qualified him to walk with God. At his time, many walked in their own ways, but Noah chose to walk with God. What qualifies a person to walk with God? The following make the list: holiness, faith, obedience, pure love, faithfulness, clean hands, a pure heart, and prayerfulness (Psalm 24:3-6).

Do you want to be among the heroes of God and be honoured for eternity? In the New Testament context, anyone who wants to walk with God must be born again – cleansed by the blood of the Lamb and be consecrated to Him, having Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord. Then walk accordingly relying on the power of the Holy Spirit, now that you have your name in the Book of Life.
