And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death. Rev. 12:11 KJV

We are in a unique season in the body of Christ, as God is maturing His saints to step into rulership. For this reason, the devil is acting to prevent the body of Christ from coming into the fullness of what God has for them. Based on personal revelation from the Holy Spirit, I believe what is written in Revelation 12 is being fulfilled in our day and age. For this reason, we must be equipped with the wisdom needed to be victorious over the enemy (The devil).

Revelation 12 speaks of a woman with a child who is going to rule over all nations (Rev. 12:5). The woman is symbolic of the Church, and the child represents the generation of Christians that will manifest the fullness of their anointing, and are the instruments of Jesus Christ in exercising His authority over the nations. Because of the destiny of this child (rulership), the enemy will try to resist the body of Christ in an attempt to abrogate the plan of God. This is the reason for the increased persecution, trials and tribulations that have befallen the body of Christ and individual Christians in recent times. 

Despite the rage of the enemy, he has already lost the battle, virtue of the conquest of Christ at the cross of Calvary. In the same manner, despite the victory over the enemy that has been given to the Church by Jesus Christ, we still need to believe Him and follow His example (His footsteps) to see this victory manifest. With this known, the first step to manifesting the victory over the enemy in this time and season is faith in the finished work of Christ. The scriptures state: “for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith (1 John 5:4 NIV)”. Therefore, as we exercise our faith by believing in what Christ has done for us by His death and resurrection, despite contradictory circumstances, we will see the manifestation of the victory over the enemy. This is the reason it was stated that “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…. (Rev. 12:11 KJV)”. The blood of the Lamb was what was shed at the cross of Calvary, and we profess our faith in it by testifying (speaking about) what has been accomplished.

Just believing in the finished work is not enough, there is needed work (of love) we need to do for our victory over the enemy to manifest. For “…faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead (James 2:17)”. Learning from Jesus’ example, He did not just believe in the Father’s ability to bring Him back from the dead, He also surrendered His will by submitting to a shameful death, death at the cross, despite He had a different desire. In this same manner, to experience victory over the enemy, we have to continually submit ourselves to the will of the Father, which is expressed by doing whatever He says to us to do (though our desires may be different). Again, as with Jesus Christ, praying for His will to be done and not ours will help in this regard.

Prayer Point:

 Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to reveal the finished work of Christ to the Church, and He should help us to express our faith in it by testifying to it. Again, Let’s pray for His will alone to be done in our lives.
