Title: Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

ย (Hebrews 12:2 NKJV)

There was a time when our Lord Jesus left his disciples in a Boat and went into the Mountains to pray. There were heavy winds in the night which blew against them and tossed their Boat far away from Land. In the early hours before dawn, they saw the Lord Jesus walking on the water towards them. They were frightened and thought it was a ghost but the Lord Jesus told them that it is He and so they shouldnโ€™t be afraid.

Peter asked the Lord that if itโ€™s truly Him, He should command him to come to Him on the Water. The Lord did as Peter asked, and he began to walk on the Water towards the Lord. At some point, he took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the heavy winds around him. Fear then set in, and he began to sink. The Lord had to hold his hand to prevent him from sinking (Matthew 14:25-33).

We are really living in difficult times. I personally believe that the Church is under attack. The world is trying to impose their ideologies on the Church. The Church is now under pressure to accept these things which are against the word of God. There is an ongoing war in different parts of the world where many people are dying day in and day out. The Economists have also predicted economic hardships in the coming months. When you turn on the TV, there is nothing encouraging on the News, just a lot of fear and panic.

Considering all the things that are happening, it is very easy to become afraid. However, we donโ€™t have to focus on the problems but rather, letโ€™s focus on our Lord, who He is and what He is capable of. There is nothing too hard for the Lord; with Him, all things are possible (Matt 19:26). Letโ€™s put our trust in the Lord and His word. Letโ€™s build our Faith in the Lord by meditating on the wonders He did in the Bible. You should also consider the mighty things the Lord has done in your Life and know that He will do them again.

So, is your ministry struggling at the moment? Donโ€™t worry! Keep on being faithful with the Assignment the Lord has given you and at the appointed time, you will experience the growth you have been praying for. Are you experiencing any difficulty at the moment? Donโ€™t be afraid! Fear is a demonic spirit, and we donโ€™t have to let it control our lives. Keep your Faith in the Lord and at His appointed time, you will have another Testimony.

Beloved in the Lord, we are living in difficult times and the normal human response is to fear and panic. However, as Christians we have to keep our eyes on Jesus knowing that He who has began a good work in our lives, He will bring it to a perfect completion.

Prayer Point:

Letโ€™s thank God for His Word today. Letโ€™s pray against the spirit of fear that is controlling Believers around the world. Letโ€™s ask the Lord to help us to always trust Him and keep our faith in Him irrespective of the circumstance.
