And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
Luke 1:31 NKJV
In the book of Luke, Mary is visited by an Arch angel Gabriel who tells her of God’s plan for her life, that she will conceive a son. I wonder why the Lord had waited until there was a man interested in marrying Mary and then come at this critical time in her life to tell her that she is a chosen vessel to carry the son of God. Surprisingly Mary did not mention anything about her engagement with Joseph meaning she was willing to even lose that engagement as long as the purpose of God for her life was accomplished. This very call had the capacity to destroy what she had with Joseph in fact when Joseph realised that Mary was pregnant he was planning to break off the engagement. The circumstances might not look like what God is doing is great but Jesus was born in a manger, it didn’t look glamorous at all.
The Lord is saying the same words to you and I today that He said to Mary. What is the thing the Lord wants to birth through you to bless humanity with? Think carefully today, what are the excuses you have been giving that are hindering you from fulfilling the call of God for your life?
What the Lord has planned concerning your life is far beyond human understanding. He just needs us to completely surrender our lives to Him as Mary had done. Mary identified herself as a maidservant vs 38, this is the posture that God wants us to have – servanthood. Luke 1v37 says for with God nothing shall be impossible so let us yield ourselves knowing that God will perfect everything that concerns our lives.
Prayer point:
Let us thank God for the word. Let us pray and ask God to reveal to us what He has called us to birth for the cause of humanity and give us the grace to fully surrender our lives to Him so that His purpose can be accomplished through our lives.
