Our Father which art in heaven….ย Matthew 6:9 KJV

The location for profiting in the Kingdom is Christ Himself. Christ speaking to the disciples, stated “... in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble (John 16:33 )”. From His speech, we see that there are two locations of dwellings: “Christ and the World”. For us Christians, by virtue of our salvation, we have been placed in Christ (Col. 1:13). However, that is a reality that exists only in the spirit (potent). For this to be manifested (the effect seen), there are things we need to do, which are acts of faith (works of faith)

One of those acts to make the reality that we are in Christ visible is the practice of the consciousness of His Presence. The presence of God fills the whole universe, even hell (Psalm 139:8). However, as individuals, there are three locations where we should try to see God. The first location of His presence is above, that is, in heaven. When Jesus Christ multiplied the loaves of bread and fish the Bible stated “Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them (Matt. 14:9“. Jesus looking up to heaven, was Him trying to see the Father seated on His throne. However, in the practice of His Presence, we don’t have to literally look up to heaven by lifting our heads, we can do so in faith with our minds, knowing He is there.

The second location of His Presence is the dimension of His presence with us. The Psalmist wrote “I have set the LORD always before me: becauseย he isย at my right hand, I shall not be moved (Psalm 16:8)“. Though this was a Psalm, it was a prophecy about how Jesus Christ lived. The right hand speaks of the place of power. Jesus speaking, said “The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him (John 8:29).โ€. Jesus always felt the presence of God with Him. The only time He couldn’t discern the presence of the Father with Him was at the cross of Calvary when he shouted “.. Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? ( Matt. 27:46)”. Again, it’s good to note that for the Psalmist to say “I have set the Lord…(Psalm 16:8)”, it suggests that the setting of the Lord is for us to do. We have to use our minds to imagine Him standing at our right-hand side.

The last location of His Presence we should try to see Him is “Within us”. By the Holy Spirit, the Presence of God is always in us. This is the most important location of His Presence. Jesus Christ was always conscious of God being in Him. Jesus speaking in John 14:10 states “… the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works”. As we take time, moment by moment, to see God in heaven, with us, and in us, the benefits of being in Christ, which reflects in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, become evident in our lives.

Prayer Point:

Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to help the body of Christ to practice His consciousness.
