Title: The Time For Assessment

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. ย (Ephesians 5:15-16 NKJV)

Thanks be to the most high God for taking us safely through the year 2022 and blessing us with another year. May His name be glorified and lifted up forever and ever. The truth is that, after being on this earth for some time and experiencing many years passing and another coming, it becomes a normal routine for most people.

Due to this, most of us go about our normal business, go for parties, celebrate Christmas, and wish one another a happy new year. However, I believe that there are so many things we must consider and do in this period. This is the time to reflect on the past year, make assessment, and make the necessary changes where required. The end of each year and the beginning of another should not be taken lightly at all.

This is because as a year ends and another begins, the second coming of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ fast approaches. There is a current Teaching circulating in the Body of Christ that is encouraging many Believers to forget about the coming of Christ and focus on amassing wealth on earth because Christ is not coming now. Some unbelievers even mock the coming of Christ by saying that if even He was sitting at the back of a Tortoise, He would have arrived by now (2 Peter 3).

However, the word of God is forever true. God is not a man, that he should lie (Num 23:19). He always accomplishes His word (Is 55:10-11). In Noahโ€™s Time, the Lord gave them His word and Noah warned the people of an upcoming Flood, but the people didnโ€™t listen just as most people in our Generation are doing, and the Flood came and consumed them (Gen 6,7). We have to learn from what happened in Noahโ€™s Time because the second coming of Christ will be in a similar manner (Matt 24:37-39). The Lord has given us His word just as He did in Noahโ€™s Time, and we donโ€™t know when He will return.

Also, as a year ends and another begins, it should tell you that you are getting older and the time to fulfill your purpose on earth is coming to an end. Therefore, if Christ doesnโ€™t even come now, your time on earth might come to an end and you will have to later stand before the Lord and give Account on how you spent your life on earth (Heb 9:27, 2 Cor 5:10).

It is very important to know that as you get older, you might get weaker in the body and may not have the strength required to fulfill some of your earthly Assignments. There are some opportunities you will not have them anymore and for some, you will not even meet the requirements because of your age. Thatโ€™s why we have to allow the Holy Spirit to always lead and direct us on the right path, and we have to make good use of the Time and opportunities that the Lord grants us.

Beloved in the Lord, a year is gone, and the Lord has blessed us with another. Letโ€™s not treat this period as a normal routine but letโ€™s use it to examine our life and our relationship with the Lord, knowing that the coming of Christ is fast approaching and the Time to fulfill our purpose on this earth is also drawing near.

Prayer Point:

Letโ€™s thank God for blessing us with another year. Letโ€™s ask Him to help us to be obedient to Him, and to fulfill our purpose on this earth.

God bless you all
