Title: Necessity is Laid Upon All Believers

For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel! ย (1 Corinthians 9:16 NKJV)

One day, a young man who was born in East Germany sensed a call from God to serve as a missionary in Africa. He then left his comfort zone, his family, and his friends for Africa. He didnโ€™t consider the dangers he could face or the poor Health Facilities in case he fell sick. All he cared about was the passion for lost Souls and obedience to his God. He encountered poor results from his evangelistic efforts and felt frustrated at the pace of his ministry, but he didnโ€™t give up.

This is because he had a recurring dream featuring a picture of the map of Africa being spread with red and heard the voice of God crying “Africa Shall Be Saved.” At the end of his Ministry, it was estimated that over 79 million people converted to Christianity. The man I am talking about is the late, โ€œEvangelist Reinhard Bonnke.โ€ The impact of this manโ€™s Ministry on Africa is evident to all.

โ€œLET MY MORTAL LIPS PREACH THE ETERNAL GOSPEL, AND MY MORTAL HANDS BUILD YOUR ETERNAL KINGDOM โ€“ TO THE GLORY OF THE FATHER.โ€ โ€“ EVANGELIST REINHARD BONNKE

Necessity is laid upon all of us as Christians. We have an obligation to preach the Gospel everywhere the Lord places us and make disciples of all nations. We have all been called (Matt 22:14). You will be making a big mistake if you think only your Pastor or Fellowship leader is called. The desire of God is not for men to perish but that all may come to repentance (2 Pet 3:9, 1 Tim 2:4). If you were the Lord who wants to save about 7.8 billion people, will you call only a few people for the work? I donโ€™t think so!

Letโ€™s all get involved in reaching out to the lost and using every opportunity to preach the Gospel. The Lord may call us into different Assignments in the Body of Christ but the obligation to reach out to the lost at all costs is laid upon everyone. Our Lord Jesus has commanded all his followers to go into the world and make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:18-20). Do you really love the Lord? Loving the Lord is not about just singing beautiful songs to Him. Loving the Lord is obeying His commandment (1 John 5:3). If you truly love the Lord, you will obey His Commandment and use every opportunity to preach the Gospel to others.

If you love the Lord, you will also live your life in obedience to His word which will make your light shine before men and attract many to Christ (Matt 5:16). Itโ€™s sad that many Believers are not aware of the truth that necessity is laid upon us. It’s very important to be conscious of your obligations as a Christian. Apostle Paul and the early Apostles were conscious of this and thatโ€™s why they sacrificed their lives for the Gospel. All of us cannot establish Ministries or organize huge Crusades as Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke did but we can all contribute our part by using every opportunity we have to preach the Gospel to our family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, etc.

Beloved in the Lord, necessity is laid upon all of us to preach the Gospel. The preaching of the Gospel is not the work of only Evangelists and Apostles but all Believers. Letโ€™s all, therefore, contribute our part to ensure that the Kingdom of God is established on this earth as it is in Heaven by using every opportunity to preach the Gospel.

Prayer Point:

Letโ€™s thank God for His Word today. Letโ€™s ask the Lord to help all Believers to be conscious that necessity is laid upon us to preach the Gospel. Letโ€™s ask the Lord to give all Believers the love, passion, and desire to preach the Gospel.

God bless you all.
