Title: Mindset

”For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee” (Proverbs 23:7).
The mind is one of the most amazing natural gifts God Almighty blessed a man with; it is engrafted with the super-efficient ability to learn, think, reason, and make decisions. Now, mindset itself is an ”established or programmed” discipline/attitude that takes a noble place in the court of logical disposition of a man. The mindset is terrestrial (natural), a baby is born with a blank mind, thus, cannot hold onto anything. With time as the baby grows through the natural development of its brain which is the engine of perception and all forms of consciousness, they begin to learn about the activities of their physical environments through observation and spontaneous curiosity. As they further grow, society indoctrinates them with certain social or cultural values, philosophy, morality/ethics. These then equip them by inserting long-lasting ideas, motivations, and inspiration in order to relate to their physical surrounding.
Cultures and traditions are the foremost influential factors in a person’s perceptions, views, and ideology. As people are of different geographical backgrounds, they tend to behave or react naturally according to how the culture or traditions of their regions groomed them. Human mindset is that frame of the mind that has been taught or learned to exhibit its potential in respect to that which it has been programmed by the supervision of culture, traditions, and philosophies of men. Mindset has its place, indeed,ย God Almighty did not make a mistake by creating us in different countries and continents, and certainly, He is aware that we will definitely inculcate the patterns of our earthly geographical origin.
It is essential we understand that there is a boundary of operation for the human mindset. When we are dealing or relating with God, it is necessary we remove our human mindsets, for it is the very barrier to knowing God well. Most times we try to comprehend things of God using our human mindset instead of submitting to the Holy Spirit; we regulate and set terms for God on how He should answer our prayers, our thanksgiving, our sacrifices, and our devotion by the yardsticks premeditated by our mindset. By doing that, we are automatically putting God in a box! We must be aware that things of God can never be subjected to our mindset. The mindset is the Devil to our encounter with God. Part of the reason we do not receive from God is that we limit Him through our mindset. In fact, the reason why some Christians could not receive heavenly blessings like Holy Spirit baptism, sanctification, and sufficient grace for service is that they have created some imaginations under the mastermind of their human mindset, thus preventing the power of the supernatural.
Prayer point:
Let’s thank God for the word and also ask Him to help us rid the barrier of mindset.
