And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. [7] And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God. (2 Samuel 6:6-7 KJV)

There is a strange yearning and crave for quick success and results without the work in our generation and if untamed could lead to a disaster. Everyone that has genuinely attained to a height whether spiritually, financially, academically or other areas of life have a story of the price they paid and the rigorous path they had to go through.

The seven sons of Sceva (Acts 19:13-16) desired quick results and overnight success and they went about with the name of Jesus without knowing the Lord and having a relationship with Him. It ended up in a disaster for them because they loved the glory and avoided the price of process. In our text today, Uzzah died because of the error of not following due process in carrying the ark of the covenant as outlined by Moses which was to be borne on the shoulders of the Levites.

As a businessman, are you cheating your partners or are you engaging in shady deals and participating in unwholesome practices to gain competitive advantage? As a student, are you cheating through exams instead of burning the midnight candle? There is definitely a reward for cutting corners without paying the price for true success. There is a process everyone must go through to manifest and there are no short cuts. Even though the elements of speed and favor may be involved, like in the case of Queen Esther, she still did all that was required of her (Esther 2:15-17).

Waiting on God is an act of faith (James 1:3-4) and trusting the Holy ghost who is the master guide to lead us through the right paths to manifest the glory of God in our lives is most important. Coveting the grace on the man of God is good but we should also be willing to go through the process they went through because it came at a cost.

Prayer point:
Letโ€™s thank God for His word today. Let us pray for the grace to pay the price for greatness in our daily walk with the Lord.
