My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: [2] For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. [3] Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart.( Proverbs 3:1-3 KJV)

When God speaks as a Father, he expects that the sons will be responsible enough to know the weight of His heart and prioritise that which He has said. There is a possibility to forget that which he had said to us in the past. Many instructions He had given and pathways he had shown us both in our visions and dreams. The charge He has Commended unto us when we read or heard His word. The ways he had pointed to us to walk in and people he had directed us to.

A lot of sons have honestly forgotten what the Father had said to them in times past. It is not wise to take the Fatherโ€™s utterances lightly because He wants to be pleased. Many destinies have been paused because they have forgotten the pathway God showed them to go through and they are still crying at His feet looking for answers.

One of the consequences of forgetting the commandments of the Lord among many other things is that mercy and truth can forsake the individual. Woe unto the man that mercy has been taken away from. He becomes a fugitive vulnerable on every side to the plunging of the enemy. Mercy in the life of a man is a game changer and in spite of his inadequacies, he will continue to wax stronger.

Keeping the commandments He has given us makes us candidates of His mercy and truth. The truth is Godโ€™s reality which is captured in His Word and obeying them qualifies us to be one with Him. It is expedient to seek to remember the personal instructions the Lord has given to us in times past so we donโ€™t end our life on a crossroad making a waste of the glorious destiny secured for us on the cross by our Lord Jesus Christ.

So, go back and plead with the Holy Spirit to remind you of all that the Lord had said to you in times past but you forgot to act on and now itโ€™s making you feel dry and inadequate. He is more than able to restore to you the mercy and truth that left you.

Prayer point:
Let us thank God for the word. Letโ€™s pray for grace not to forget his commandments to us.
