And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began John 17:5 NIV

Generally, salvation is a story of restoration, for God brought man back into right relationship with Him. Apart from the restoration of our relationship with God, there were things Adam lost at His fall that God intends that we regain. Even as Christians, we might have lost things in our wrestle with principalities and power, and it is God’s will that we regain that which we have lost in any way.

Though He didn’t lose it, at His first coming to earth, Jesus did leave a certain aspect of His glory in heaven. While on earth, He said to the Father “glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began (John 17:5 NIV)“. This prayer was for the restoration of the glory that He left before taking up the form of a man. This goes to show that prayer is a means by which restoration is achieved in the kingdom. However, the restoration didn’t just happen the moment Jesus Christ prayed, there was a process Jesus went through before He received that which He requested.

It is common knowledge that after His resurrection, Jesus Christ was exalted to the right hand of the Father (Phil. 2:9). This position of being at the right hand of the Father was the glory He had with God before the foundation of the world (John 17:5). Therefore, we can see that after He prayed, there was a measure of suffering he had to endure for the glory He left before coming to earth to be restored. This is the same process He takes us through for that which we have lost to be fully restored.

As we ask God in prayer and submit to the process He takes us through, we will receive that which we want restored.

Prayer Point.

Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask the Lord to restore to the body of Christ and to us as individuals that which we have lost.ย
