Preordination

Call to Prayerย

Title: Preordination

Date: 13.12.2023

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Jeremiah 1:5 KJV

In the beginning, we saw how God both created and formed Adam; the spirit of Adam was created in Genesis chapter 1 while the body of Adam was formed in Genesis chapter 2. As we discussed yesterday, the spirit of the recreated human is already all that God wants it to be, but our natural self still needs to catch up.

The whole concept of the duality of man (both a spiritual and physical entity) was what God brought into play when communicating with Jeremiah at the point of his call. He said to him, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations (Her. 1:5)”. The part of Jeremiah God knew before Jeremiah was formed in the woman was the spirit of Jeremiah. From this conversation, we saw how the spirit of Jeremiah was ordained a Prophet long before his body was formed in the womb.

Like Jeremiah, each and every one of us has been ordained for a particular ministry before coming to this world. This is what the Bible was inferring when it says “For we are Godโ€™s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Eph. 2:10)“. Our lives on earth can only be termed successful by God only when we discover and fulfil the ministry we have been preordained for. We discover what we have been preordained for as we fellowship with God and grow in our knowledge.

Prayer Pointย

Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to help each member of the body of Christ to know and fulfil that which He has preordained us to do on earth.
