And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? [3] Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
(Zechariah 3:2-3 KJV)
The manifold wisdom of God is manifested in many ways. Some we have experienced, some we have been told and many others we donโt know. One of these outlet is revealed in the judgement system of the Most high that crafts an escape route in mercy.
In our opening text, we see Joshua the high priest being resisted by the devil because he had been found in iniquity and the devil therefore has a legal right to keep a filthy garment on him but the Lord took him through unpleasant circumstances and tribulations that is the same weight as the punishment he should have received according to the shekels of the sanctuary and was thereby discharged by the court of heaven and a command was given for garments to be placed on him and the filthy garment removed (Zech. 3:5).
There are believers going through trials that God has introduced to veto the judgement that should have come as a result of established protocols of the laws and statutes of heaven(1 Corinthians 5:3-5). There are covenants at work in the lives of men just because one of their parent submitted them at the altar of darkness.
Sometimes, there are tendencies and possibilities that may cut short a manโs journey of divine destiny and God in His mercy will put a limiter in the personโs life to restrain them from exhibiting these tendencies and falling (2 Corinthians 12:7). Therefore, we need to continue to cry for Godโs mercy like David even when we fall or give a chance to the enemy.
Prayer point:
Let us thank God for His word today. Let us ask that God will continually visit us with mercy in the place of judgement.
