Title: The Weapons of Our Warfare

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds

(2 Corinthians 10:3 NKJV)

In last week’s Call to Prayer titled “The Wiles of the Devil”, we learnt that we are at war with the devil and his Agents who seek to steal, kill, and destroy us. The devil is not powerful but very tricky and one of his strategies is his ability to be in someone’s life undetected. We also learnt that the moment you lose the desire to pray and fellowship with the Lord, know that the enemy is attacking your foundation in order to find a way into your life. Today, I would like to continue and share some of the weapons that we possess for this Battle.

The truth is that we cannot fight and win this Battle on our own and with our strength. We have to continually abide in the Lord through daily fellowship with Him (Jn 15:5). That is where we can draw strength to continue to fight and hold onto our Faith to the very end. Without Him, we can do nothing!

Another key is to be conscious of the presence of God and His Angels in your life all the time. The Lord has promised to be with us to the very end (Matt 28:20). You are not alone in this Battle! Elisha knew that he was not alone when he was surrounded by soldiers. He prayed that the Lord would open his servant’s eyes so he would also see the innumerable number of Angels with them (2 Kgs 6:16-17).

Last but not the least, we have the Armor of God listed in Ephesians 6 available to us. The word of God is the only weapon in the Armor of God that we can directly use to fight back. The rest are for our protection. The word of God is our Sword. Our Lord Jesus Christ overcame the devil with truth in the word of God (Matt 4:1-11). Let’s therefore grow in our knowledge of the word and live by the word of God all the time.

Beloved in the Lord, we are in a serious Battle with the devil and his Agents, and it is therefore very important for us to be aware of the weapons that we possess. Let’s be conscious of the presence of God and His Angels in our lives and fellowship with Him regularly. Most importantly, let’s put on the whole Armor of God so we can withstand the tricks of the devil.

Prayer Point:

Let’s thank God for His Word today. Let’s ask the Lord to help all Believers to be aware and know when to use all the weapons we possess.
