Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns. [19] And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.(Zechariah 1:18-19 KJV)

Every time that a word of prophecy goes out to people concerning God’s plan and purpose for their lives, the enemy too gets the information, even though he might not have the full details of God’s plan. We saw this by the river Jordan when our Lord Jesus was baptised and the heavens were opened with the voice of accreditation from the Father (Matt. 3:16-17). It was after this great encounter that the tempter showed up when he was led into the wilderness by the Spirit of God (Matt. 4:1). There is a part for us to play whenever we hear a word from God.

God’s plan is for every man to go higher but we see in our opening scripture that the enemy deploys horns to scatter them so that no man will be able to lift up his head. One of the guards against these saboteurs is prayer (Matt. 26:41). Prayer takes us higher and helps to break every chain of limitations that seeks to hold us down. When we go high spiritually, the natural opens up to us and we can then walk in the dominion that God has proclaimed over our lives.

Another way is through the understanding of the word of God through continuous meditation (Josh. 1:8). When we take time to study God’s word, it starts becoming flesh in our hearts and the more we do it, the more we start thinking in scriptures which is a river that the Holy Ghost will draw from in the day of battle for our defence. Jesus overcame the devil by the word in the wilderness and this provision is still available to believers today. Therefore, God’s plan to take us higher is still intact for as many as possible who are interested in taking action to see it fulfilled.

Let us thank God for His word today. Let’s pray for grace to stand in prayers continually and in the study of the word of God.
