Title: The Art Of Evangelism – Part 2
“And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S”
(Obadiah 1:21 KJV)
In last week’s Call to Prayer titled “The Art Of Evangelism”, we found out that one of the main reasons why many Believers don’t commit to Evangelism is because they don’t know how to go about it. I therefore shared some of the ways we can use to evangelize: Prayer, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and sharing our story of salvation. Today, I would like to continue and share other ways and approaches we can use to evangelize.
When given the opportunity to share the Gospel, one area we can focus on, is the love of God (Jn 3:16). The whole salvation can be seen as a love story of a God who loves His people so much that even after the people has rejected Him and created obstacle in their relationship, He came out of love to redeem His people and remove this obstacle (Rom 5:8, 2 Cor 5:21).
There are so many people experiencing a lot of rejections, hardships, and difficulties and are depressed. These people need to know that God loves them. The evil one has also deceived many unbelievers into believing that God only accepts perfect people. This is the strategy of the devil to push men away from the Lord. Such people also need to know that God loves them, and He is ready to welcome them just as they are (Luk 15:11-32, Matt 11:28).
The truth is that there are many unbelievers who are not really moved by the message of the love of God. Some of them are moved by the fear of the Judgement of God (Jud 1:23). We can let such people know that although God is a loving father, He is also a King and a Judge (Is 33:22, Ps 89:14) and He will reward or punish each one accordingly.
Therefore, if we decide to live this life away from God, we should be rest assured that we will also spend eternity away from the Lord in hell (Jn 3:19), and hell is not a nice place at all. I know a friend who planned to fornicate with a lady. He was invited to a Church Service where the Pastor preached powerfully about the dangers of sin and hell. He quickly changed his mind and gave his life to Christ.
Beloved in the Lord, there are many different ways and approaches we can go about evangelism. Some of them are by sharing the love of God and the fear of the judgment of God. However, there are many more. We just have to be sensitive and obedient to the Holy Spirit and the open doors of opportunities that the Lord will bring our way. Make yourself a savior of men!
Prayer Point:
Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to help all believers to be saviors of men and also open doors and opportunities for us to preach the Gospel.
God bless you all!
