Bring it to Christ

Title: Bring it to Christ

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you

(1st Peter 5:7 KJV).

Back in senior high school, we had this elective mathematics teacher whose exams was always difficult to pass. The most brilliant student in the class was lucky to get 60% in his exams. However, the questions seemed so easy and straightforward whenever he solved them together with us. Why was this so, I rhetorically asked myself one day? The only answer I got was that he was the teacher. He has answers to the questions, he understands them better and he is more knowledgeable in the subject than we do. There was a time that when it was a few days to one of his exams, he allowed us to bring questions that we cannot answer to him. I remember solving one question with a friend during that time, and we did not take it to the teacher. That question came in the exams, and guess what, we got it wrong. I said to myself, how stupid I was not to go to the teacher.

In our verse for today, Apostle Peter admonishes us to cast our burdens on God because He cares. If we carefully analyse 1st Peter 5:6, we realise that carrying a burden is a demonstration of pride. The father in the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) is a perfect demonstration of the character of God. The father never stopped caring for him, neither did he stop loving the son, but the son chose to bring upon himself a burden by going out of the fatherโ€™s house. But the good news was that when he came back, he was relieved of the burden he has brought upon himself.

Maybe you have carried a burden for long or have mistakenly brought one upon yourself, and you have not gotten anyone to relieve you. Today, I encourage you to bring it to Jesus and He will give you rest. Whatever is puzzling you in this life, being it sickness or family or business or ministry or children, bring it to the teacher (Jesus Christ), and you will get answers to them. He holds the keys to the mysteries of life. Maybe you have taken it to the wrong people like I did, but there is still time and room to bring it to the right person today. Lay it all before Him, and He will give you rest and peace.

Prayer Point:

Let’s take time to ask God today to teach believers all over the world the importance of laying our burdens on Him. Let’s come against any form of pride that would want to prevent us from obeying this scriptural instruction.

If this has blessed you, Please share this Call to Prayer with your friends and family so they will be blessed too.ย
