Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. (Job 42:3 KJV)
Therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes. (Job 42:6 NIV)
In our text today, we see Job who was a lover of God. A man that even the Almighty himself testified of, submit himself humbly to the correction of God when he found out his errors and his limitations about the knowledge of God. Even though he did not sin throughout his ordeal, he made some erroneous conclusions on who he thought God was and when the Almighty rebuked him, he was quick to repent and learn anew. We must therefore be careful not to allow the spirit of pride hinder the move of God in this generation.
A lot of believers have set a seal on so many things of God just like Apostle Peter when God told him to take and eat of the unclean beast in his vision (Acts 10:13-15). As such, the Holy Spirit becomes handicapped and cannot teach them new things. The knowledge of the Most high is infinite and when we discover new realities about Him, we should not be disgruntled about the source or vessel but rather, check with the Holy Spirit and if it be true, continue learning. The more we know Him, the more our understanding of Him increases โ…..I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth theeโ (Job 42:5).
As believers, ego should never take centre stage in our lives, it ushers in the spirit of pride which God hates. The Almighty desires to keep revealing Himself to us His children more and more so we can become like Him.
Prayer point:
Letโs pray that the Almighty will bestow upon us the heart of humility to learn new things about Him and silence the spirit of pride from among us.
God bless you!
