So he said to them, โ€œPlease hear this dream which I have dreamed: There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.โ€

(Genesis 37:6-7 NKJV)

A few weeks ago, the leaders of our congregation were discussing a particular girl in the Youth Fellowship. This young lady has experienced remarkable spiritual growth within a short period, to the amazement of many. Everyone has noticed her love, commitment, and zeal for the work of God.

During the conversation, one of the ladies said what surprises her the most is that this girl is still a teenager, an age where hormones are actively developing and the desire for pleasure is typically very strong. Immediately after she said this, a word dropped into my spirit: โ€œThis girl has received something from the Lord that is far greater than the activities of hormonesโ€”she has received a revelation from the Lord.โ€

The truth is that we all need a revelation from God. When you receive revelation from the Lord, it gives you clarity, keeps you spiritually focused, and strengthens your resolve to resist sin and worldly pleasures. The reason many people live for temporary pleasures is because they lack knowledge of what God has planned and purposed for their lives. Without that insight, they live aimlessly.

Letโ€™s consider Joseph. He received a revelation through a dream that he would become a great man (Gen 37:6โ€“7). Because of the revelation he had about who God is and what God had in store for him, Joseph refused to allow just five minutes of sinful pleasure with Potipharโ€™s wife to distract him from his destiny (Gen 39:7โ€“10).

Beloved in the Lord, we desperately need divine revelation from the God who knew us even before we were formed in our motherโ€™s womb. A revelation of His will for our lives will anchor us in purpose and help us resist sin and distractions.

Prayer Point:
Letโ€™s thank God for His Word today. Letโ€™s ask the Lord to give all believers around the world a revelation of His plans and purposes for their lives.

God bless you all.
