Title: A Season of Divine Celebration-Part 4

โ€œAnd the son said to him, โ€˜Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.โ€™โ€

(Luke 15:21 NKJV)

ย

We have been talking about the topic, โ€œDivine Celebrationโ€ for the past weeks now and today I would like to talk about the last step that will bring us into the season of Divine celebration: Genuine Repentance and Restoration.

The question here is, are we ready to live a life filled with seasons of celebration? Then we should genuinely and sincerely repent of our sins. We must put away adultery, unforgiveness, put an end to jealousy, malice, bitterness, gossip, and backbiting (1 Peter 2:11) and return to prayer, worship, the Word, and fellowship with our Heavenly Father (Jeremiah 15:19).

When we look the Parable of the Prodigal son, we can see that when he was away from his Father, he experienced a season of dryness. However, the moment he genuinely repented, he was brought out of that dry season into a season of celebration. The Father of the prodigal son did something our Heavenly Father does; whenever we return to God and repent of our sins, He forgives and warmly welcomes us. The father of the prodigal son clothed his son with the finest rob, he put a ring on his finger, he put sandals on his sonโ€™s feet and killed a fattened calf for a feast in honor of his sonโ€™s return.

God putsย  on us a rob of righteousness and honor and takes away the garment of sin and shame whenever we confess of our sins and accept Him as our Lord and personal savior (Revelation 19:7-8). Just as our Lord Jesus was clothed with the finest rob, so will we be clothed with the finest rob, for this rob brings Joy and Divine Celebration (Isaiah 61:10).

The ring the father put on his sonโ€™s finger was a symbol of sonship to show to the world that he still belongs to the father, and still has a place in his heart and that the world should still honor him. In Haggai 2:23, the Lord put a signet ring on Zerubbabel to show that He has chosen him. In the same way, God is willing to put a signet ring on anyone who is genuinely willing to repent of his/her sins, to show to the world that you are still His child. It also shows that you still have the right and privileges of His Kingdom.

The sandals that the father put on his sonโ€™s feet also has a significant meaning. Ephesians 6:15 tells us to wear on our feet, to put on as shoes, the peace that comes from the Gospel. Itโ€™s one of the amor of God every child of God needs for spiritual growth and warfare. The father of the prodigal son made them put on his sonโ€™s feet the shoe of peace because this was his son who was contending with forces that wanted him to live a wasted and unprofitable life. The Father empowered his son spiritually by putting these Sandals on his feet so that his son will be ready whenever the evil principalities and forces will try to torment him again. Now, as you wear these sandals of peace so will you no longer be tossed around by evil forces but rather walk in peace and honor.

The last preparation was the fattened calf the father killed to celebrate his son in the presence of his enemies (Psalm 23:5), so will God prepare a table for you in front of those who wanted to see your downfall and you shall be a testimony for many to see.

There is one last question left to be answered personally by you. Are you willing and ready to go back to your father who created you and only wants the best for you? The prodigal son made this life changing step, and we are all witnesses and saw all the blessings which were bestowed upon him.

Beloved in the Lord, time is not on our side. Our savior Jesus is coming soon. Are you ready for Him? Donโ€™t let time run out but run to Jesus. I pray you will make a wise choice today, and a great season of Divine Celebration you have never experienced before, will begin in your life today.

Prayer Point:

Letโ€™s thank God for His Word today. Letโ€™s ask God to bring all His Children into a season of Divine Celebration with no hindrances. Letโ€™s also ask God to help those who are yet to be saved to know the truth that He still loves them and He is their Heavenly Father.
