โWhatsoever thy hand findeth to do, doย itย with thy might; forย there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.โ (Ecclesiastes 9:10)
” I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus”. (Philippians 3:14)
A goal is an objective that is driven by the target at the endpoint of everything. Everything and everybody is guided by a specific function of purpose through action. Living and nonliving things, visible and invisible, natural and artificial all have goals. The goal of the Sun is to provide light during the day, the moon to provide light at night, the cloud to give rain, etc. Goals are what determine the function of our defined purposes, and we do all that we can to fulfill them. The farmer’s goal is to have a plenteous harvest, the athletes train vigorously by undergoing strenuous training in order to eventually win a trophy, students study with the goal of graduating with a certificate, and the business people run merchandise with a goal of accumulating profits.
Having understood that the law of progress has ย “goal” as its fuel to arrive at a destination, we can deduce that, having a goal is incredible, nevertheless, structuring our goal on the right thing is the most significant. Setting career goals, academic goals, business goals, and other personal goals in life is wonderful. In fact, It is partly the will of God for us to do well in all things (3 John 1:2). As children of God, we should kindly understand that God Almighty sets His goals in us through Christ, and that goal is superior to any other earthly goal. The Scripture gives us the idea that in the Kingdom, there is a goal that is a worthy one. The worthy goal is that by all means, we should be able to win souls for God by the virtue of our sharing the gospel not only in words but also in our behavior, lifestyle, efforts, and selfless concern for dying men.
The goal of Jesus even in great agony was to give His life for the redemption of all men, He was able to achieve that of which we are all beneficiaries; such a praiseworthy gesture. It is now our responsibility to set the goal of winning sinners and backsliders to the fold of God, it is not just enough to shape our life of Faith by attending different worship services when souls are breathing their last in absolute ignorance of Christ’s sacrificial privilege. For we know that the work of soul winning comes with a more worthy and excellent reward (Daniel 12:3-4).
