After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. (Luke 10:1 KJV)

Social media influencers, blogs, websites, television stations, social media applications are some of the few ways products, services and events are advertised in our days. However, this is not new because God announces His intentions for mankind through His prophets who were town-criers and divine messengers of those days.

In our opening text, we see the Lord Jesus sending out 35 pairs of his disciples into different places to announce the kingdom, sow seeds and push the message far into places that the Lord himself will come. This communities were already aware of the gospel due to the engagement with the disciples therefore, a measure of faith would have been built in their hearts. So, when Jesus finally arrived the places; salvation, miracles, healings, signs and wonders were possible.

Evangelism is advertising the kingdom and it must be done with all intentionality to produce results because Jesus has plans to come and visit those individuals, our workplaces, our communities, our families and he desires that the message of the kingdom should be preached to lost souls. This is the great commission that he gave before he ascended into heaven to go into all the world and preach the gospel (Mark 16:15).

As marketers of the divine message and the kingdom of God, nothing must hinder us from this assignment because the master will require from every man how he carried the divine assignment given to them. We will not fall short in Jesus name.

Let’s thank God for His word today. Father, increase my zeal for your kingdom and help me to advertise it.
