All Scripture is God-breathedย and is useful for teaching,ย rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,ย ย so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.ย (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The scripture is an inspired record, witness, and compilation of events of the past, present, and future by the Holy Spirit. It is not just written poetry, a book, or literature as many claim, but a compendium of mystery, hidden knowledge, engrafted wisdom, and tremendous history. The scripture is the manual of the righteous, it gives all round guidance to the path of light. The author, by inspiration, is the Holy Spirit. we are much conversant, the Holy Spirit is a personality, more so, God’s active force and mind. The Holy Spirit breathe in the word of God through anointed and sanctified human vessels.

The scripture is so powerful that it transforms, equips, strengthens, encourages, heals, warns, and informs a believer. Whatsoever that is written therein regardless of the generation, time, and season; it profits withal. It is crucial we know that anybody can have physical access to or open the scripture, however, not everyone can understand the scripture (Acts 8:26-40). It is configured and locked by the Spirit of God and, thus, can not be comprehended or discerned by just human logic/reasoning except unlocked by the same Spirit. The natural or carnal man can not decipher the deep things of God written therein (1 Corinthians 2:14). We are saved by the express help and supervision of the Spirit, and one needs the Holy Spirit to interpret the mysteries of the scripture. It is a never-ending ocean of the divine. It is the physical expression of God on earth! Jesus Christ being the God incarnate (John 10:30) used the scripture to defeat Satan when tempted (Mathew 4:3-11). “It is written” is more than what you see, feel, or hear.

Through the revelation of the scripture, we get informed about the account of creation (Genesis 1:1-31, Hebrews 11:3). By it we know the deep things and mind of God (1 Corinthians 2:10-13). It reveals the foolishness and limitation of human beings (Psalm 53:1, Proverbs 3:5-6). By it, we know the love of God (John 3:16). By it we know the judgment of God (Hebrew 10:31, I Peter 4:17). By it, we receive comfort and courage (Psalm 23), we know and sing the song of amazing grace (Titus 2:8-10) and get informed about the cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1). By it we learn that the elders obtained a good report through faith, but did not get the promise (Hebrews 11:39-40) and by it we test false spirits, doctrines, and prophets (1 John 4;1). The scripture is the backbone of a believer’s life. Whatever depth of God’s mind we discover, it is by the grace of understanding the written word of God.

Dear brethren in Christ, we use the scripture to evaluate our maturity, growth, and perfection in God, for it is a mirror. There are other manifestations of the dimension of God in our lives such as gifts of healing, prophecy, discernment of spirit, and miracles, nevertheless, they are all subjects to the ultimate written word. The level of our understanding/breakthrough in God begins and ends in the Scripture: whatever we do, proclaim, or profess must align and accurately complement the Scripture.

Prayer point:

Let’s thank God for today’s word and also ask Him to open our eyes to understanding the scripture.
