Title: Are You ready?

Then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.ย 1 Thessalonians 4:17 NASB2020ย
The concept of the rapture is an important aspect of our faith, and an event we all should live in expectation of. Sadly, not every Christian is conscious of this event and not many are prepared for it.
I was part of a service one time where the Lord told the pastor that if Jesus should come that moment, just 50% of his congregation would make heaven, highlighting the fact that not every one in Church was ready for the rapture. When Apostle Paul was speaking about this event, he said “that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Eph. 5:27 KJV )”. When he said “without spot, or wrinkle”, he was referring to the state of the outer garment. And in Revelation 19:8, the outer garment which is made of linen was said to represent the righteous acts of God’s people. Therefore, the statement “without spot, or wrinkles” is in reference to the measure of the manifestation of the gift of righteousness that God expects from those who will make the rapture to possess. In fact, the statement “without blemish”, suggests nothing should be lacking.
Knowing the above, how do we prepare for the rapture? We must ensure we continue to maintain our personal relationship with God by spending time in the word and prayer. Because, only in maintaining this relationship we receive the grace to manifest His righteousness to perfection. Again, getting to understand the doctrine of love and seeking grace to practice it would help us a great deal, for perfection can only be attained when we love like Him ( Matt. 5:48).
Finally, gaining the understanding that enduring trials helps work patience in us, which helps us be perfect (in Character) and lacking nothing (James 1:2-3) will help us to yield to Him when He takes us through trials.
Prayer Point
Let’s thank God for His word today. Let’s ask Him to help us prepare for His second coming.ย
