Title: Arise O Mighty Man of Valor – Part 3
And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” (Judges 6:12 NKJV)
I have been sharing on the Topic titled, “Arise O Mighty Man of Valor” for some time now. We have learnt so far that the Authority to rule the earth that man lost to the devil in the Garden of Eden has been restored to Believers through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus (Matt 28:18-20). We have also seen examples of mighty men of valor who exercised their strength, power, and authority in the Lord to destroy many oppositions and reclaim their inheritance. Today, I would like to share some important requirements to become a mighty man or woman of valor.
The first requirement is for us to be Born Again by believing and confessing Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal savior (Rom 10:9-10). This is because the authority to rule the earth has not been restored to everyone in the world but only to Believers of Jesus Christ. The people in the world are still ruled and controlled by the evil one (Eph 2:1-3). It is only those who are born of God who can overcome the world and the evil one through their Faith in Christ Jesus (1 John 5:4).
The next requirement is to build intimacy with the Lord. We have to abide in Christ continually because that is where we draw our strength. Without him, we can do nothing (1 John 15:5). Let’s spend regular time with the Lord in worship, studying the word and in prayers. Building a good relationship with the Lord through continuous Intimacy ensures that His Presence is with you at all times. It is His Presence which empowers you and leads you to victory. This is the reason why Gideon was able to defeat thousands of Midianites and Amalekites Army with only three hundred men (Judg 7-8).
In addition, we have to grow spiritually and build our Spiritual Capacity. Think of it this way. If a father dies and leaves an inheritance for his young children, those children are not much better off than slaves until they grow up, even though they actually own everything their father had (Gal 4:1). As Christians, we have many Weapons and Armor available to us to destroy the works of the enemy. These weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in the Lord (2 Cor 10:3-4, Eph 6:10-18). However, the kind of Battle determines which kind of Weapon, Armor and Strategy required to achieve victory. Until we grow spiritually, we wouldn’t know all our available Weapons, Armors and Strategies, and when to use them.
Last but not the least is for us to endure Trials and Difficulties. In the Military, before Soldiers are sent out to War, they go through several months of Training and Preparation. As Christians, one way that the Lord trains and prepare us for the war against the evil one is through Trials and Difficulties. David was able to defeat Goliath because the Lord had been training and preparing him in the wilderness with wild Bears and Lions (1 Sam 17:34-37). When we endure Trials, our Faith is strengthened, a Character is built in us, and we become unstoppable (Rom 5:1-5).
Beloved in the Lord, our Lord and savior Jesus Christ has given us the authority to destroy the works of the evil one, possess our possessions and rule the earth. To achieve this, we have to be Born Again, build intimacy with the Lord, grow spiritually and endure Trials. Let’s arise oh mighty men and women of valor!
Prayer Point:
Let’s thank God for His Word today. Let’s ask the Lord to help all Believers to exercise our Authority in Christ to rule over the earth.
God bless you all
