7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?โ€ Luke 18:7-8

Hebrews 11:1 says, โ€œNow faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.โ€. From this you see that faith means you receive it before it becomes; you believe it and are happy about it before it happens. If you are not yet happy about it, it is most likely because you have not yet believed it. Today I wish to hammer on that our believe must be before it happens not only after.

Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrew 11:6). God in His infinite wisdom chose to often makes promises before fulfilling them (both in the bible and personally). The question now is how you receive those promises when you hear them. Do you doubt or truly believe it. And even after believing initially do you keep believing it. Although God provides evidence to help our faith, there is always room for doubt to create a need for faith. In this game of life, that is one of the rules that God created to please him: FAITH. Daring to believe and keep believing till the end.

There is a joy that comes from believing (John 8:56). This joy is strength to endure (Nehemiah 8:10). 1 Peter 4:13 says โ€œBut rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.โ€ From this you see that the joy from believing is like an initial deposit before the complete payment. It means if you donโ€™t receive the initial payment. The complete payment may not be made to you or even when you get the rest of the payment it is not complete because you missed out on the initial deposit. When fulfilment comes (by Godโ€™s mercy) and you didn’t believe perhaps you might battle with regret(shame) and joy because you are not counted among those who believed (Hebrews 6:12). Again, God makes promises to inspire certain actions so when we donโ€™t believe how will do you those actions or righteous deeds (Galatians 3:10).

To conclude, our faith must not change based on circumstances for when situations seem contradictory it is a test of our faith. Like Abraham didnโ€™t stop believing Godโ€™s promise of child even as he was already passing normal childbearing age.

Prayer Point:

Letโ€™s thank God for His mercy. Letโ€™s pray for grace to please God by believing and remaining in station โ€œFaithโ€ until He fulfils that which he has promised.
