Title: Beyond the Veil
Name: Daniel Peter
Date: 29.03.2023
By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his fleshย Hebrews 10:20KJV
Yesterday, I made mentioned that it was God’s will for us to receive the Spirit (the anointing) without measure like Jesus Christ, and loving like Him is the way we can attain this (Eph. 3:14-19). Our spiritual capacity is a measure of our ability to love, and when our vessel is expanded enough, then His fullness can dwell in us.
As a result of what was done at the cross of Calvary, when we believe in Jesus, God shed His love abroad in our hearts by faith (Rom. 5:5). This means, we all love God. However, our ability to be able to see God in another person will determine how much of the love in our hearts can be expressed toward that person. What hinders us from seeing Jesus in others? Who they are in the flesh. Hebrew 10:20 revealed that the flesh of Jesus was a veil. A veil because it concealed the glory of God within.
To consider how the veil/ the flesh conceals God’s glory, let’s consider Moses. In Exodus 34:29-35, the face of Moses was said to be radiating God’s glory because He had talked to God. But Moses placed the veil over his face that stopped the people from seeing the glory of God. The Glory of God is within every believer as the treasure in our earthen vessel (2Cor. 4:7). To see through the veil, our spiritual eyes need to be opened. That veil is only there when we are looking with our natural eyes, for the expression of our love will be limited by the frailty of the flesh of he or she we are trying to love. But when our spiritual eyes are open, we see past the flesh and recognise Christ in people, then we can love them like Christ loves the Church.
To have our eyes open, we ask God to open our eyes to see His Glory, and we spend time in His word to understand His mind.
Prayer Point:
Let’s thank God for the word today. Let’s also ask Him to open our eyes to see His glory and give us the grace to abide by His word.
