And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. (Ezra 6:14 KJV)

The mystery of divine arrangement is an orchestration that is usually propagated from the heavenlies to bring an agenda into reality on earth. In the story of Elijah and the widow of Zarephath(1 Kings 17), Elijah would have probably thought that the woman must have an abundance for God to be sending him there for sustenance until he met the widow in her needy state. God’s agenda was to turn her into a storehouse of abundance in a time of need but God used Elijah and Ahab to create the scenario.

From our text today, two categories of people were mentioned and they fall into the broad head of “priests and kings”. These agents are usually deployed when it comes to matters of destiny fulfillment. It is not a coincidence that priests and kings shaped the destiny of our Lord Jesus Christ and John the Baptist. David’s divine destiny was brought to light through the active participation of the prophet Samuel and king Saul. To bring clarity, the apostle Paul gave us an insight in 2 Peter 2:9 where we see our identity as a royal priesthood. Hence, the reason why we are tied to these two functionaries.

Therefore, when God is ready to build a man or woman, he deploys priests and kings around him but he must be alive in the spirit to know and tap into this season. Many of them could be mentors and leaders he has not even met before physically but he is immersed in what they carry. Kings could be captains of industries who God has used to set a pace in a field of endeavour.

A lot of believers stopped when met by their God-ordained priests and left out the kingly dimension needed in the building of destiny. The bigger picture that God has may never be realised if these two categories of emissaries are not present. Even though prophets Haggai and Zechariah were constantly giving the elders of Israel counsel from heaven while they built, it took the commandments of kings to see it accomplished.

Let’s thank God for the word today. Let us pray that God will open our eyes to the priests and kings he has prepared for our destiny fulfillment so we can plug into them.
