To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: [2] A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 KJV)
There is an order that God permits in His administration of this world that we live in, and it has to do with times and seasons. These times and seasons operate in cycles, and there are many cyclical examples around us. Man himself is administered by cycles; the reproductive cycle, the rain cycle, the digestive cycle, the annual cycle, the monthly cycle, the menstrual cycle, life cycle, to mention a few.
When God wants to bring a people into a new season, He ushers them into it at the beginning of a cycle. This is a divine timing called kairos, which, if missed, men and women will have to wait till that cycle is complete before an opportunity of such will present itself again at the beginning of the new cycle. This was what happened to the man by the pool of Bethesda whose cycle of angelic visitation was seasonal (John 5:4).
We have just finished a cycle around the sun as inhabitants of the earth, and we are at the beginning of another new cycle. God is set to do amazing things this new year, but just like the pool of Bethesda, we must be ready to dive into the pool when it is stirred. It is the beginning of great opportunities, and for every door we might have missed, God is about to present a new one. All we need to do is align with what He wants, and we will be carriers of His wonders.
As believers, we must watch constantly to see and perceive what seasons God is bringing us into with effective and fervent prayers ( James 5:17-18) so we can get into it successfully and not miss out because we do not know the time of our visitation. Let us therefore maximise this great opportunity that God has given to us to be alive on this first day of a glorious new year.
