Today, I would like to encourage and exhort us to remember that we love the Lord by loving our neighbors.
Jesus suffered, and I died for our sins. He loved us first. So Jesus deserves our love. We owe Him our love.
Through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus, we have received immeasurable blessings. Because of His sacrifice, he has purchased for us eternal life (John 3:16, Romans 6:23). Because of His sacrifice, we can come boldly before the Lord in prayer and ask for mercy and grace (Hebrews 4:16). We have received power and authority to trample on every activity of the enemy, be it sickness or addiction or stagnation, e.t.c (Luke 10:19, Romans 5:17).
Now, after all these we have received, the Lord has commanded us to love one another as He has loved us. So we are loving others in Jesus’ name. Your neighbors may not deserve your love, but Jesus does, and He has asked us to transfer that love to our neighbors.
We must also be reminded that although we love Jesus because we owe Him that love, He has also promised us rewards for keeping His commandments ( Romans 2:6, Matthew 10:42).
So once again, we’re called to love one another because we owe Jesus that love, and Jesus will also reward us for the love we have shown others in His name.
Prayer Point:
Let’s thank God for the word today. Let’s ask God to help us remember to love in His name.
