But me, I’m not giving up. I’m sticking around to see what GOD will do. I’m waiting for God to make things right. I’m counting on God to listen to me.
Micah 7:7 MSG

Giving up on yourself is, in a way, giving up on Godโ€”because He has invested so much in you. He created you with purpose, equipped you with gifts, and has a divine plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11). Thatโ€™s why giving up is not an option.

When you hold on to what you truly believe inโ€”especially if it aligns with God’s willโ€”you will find a way. You may fall many times, but what matters most is that you rise again. Proverbs 24:16 reminds us, For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.

Job suffered the loss of his children, his wealth, and his health, yet he did not curse God or abandon his faith. In the end, God restored him and blessed him even more than before (Job 1โ€“2, Job 42:10). Jobโ€™s endurance teaches us that faith in suffering is never wasted.

Joseph was betrayed by his own brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and thrown into prison, yet Joseph still trusted God. His perseverance led to him becoming a ruler in Egypt, and the means through which God saved many lives.

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good. ย  Genesis 37โ€“5

Called by God to lead Israel out of slavery, Moses faced Pharaohโ€™s stubbornness, the Israelitesโ€™ complaints, and many leadership challenges. Still, he did not give up. Through Moses, God parted the Red Sea and brought His people to freedom (Exodus 3โ€“14).

Mocked and misunderstood for her barrenness, Hannah continued to pray with fervent faith. God honored her persistence and gave her a son, Samuel, whom she dedicated back to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:10โ€“20).

After 12 years of suffering and being shunned, the woman with the issue of blood pressed through the crowd just to touch Jesusโ€™ garment. Her faith led to healing. Jesus told her, โ€œDaughter, your faith has made you wellโ€ (Luke 8:43โ€“48).

Do not let your current situation define your future. Let the stories of the people mentioned above be a source of encouragement to you. God sees your pain, hears your prayers, and walks with you through every valley (Psalm 23:4). Keep pressing forward. Trust Him even when itโ€™s hard. As Galatians 6:9 encourages us, โ€œLet us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.โ€

You are not alone. God is with you. Donโ€™t give up.

PRAYER POINTS:

Let’s thank God for his word.
Let’s ask Him for strength in the phase of trial.
Let’s ask for the grace to keep looking unto Him in the midst of our trials.
