Galatians 6:9 “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.” 

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are quite small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever” 

Many at times, when God wants to take us to the next higher level, He allows us to go through some trials which tests us, build, and bring out virtues in us in the end. This journey of faith we have embarked on is one of ups and downs, good times and hard times. But in all this we must hold on tightly to our faith and trust in Jesus. We must put Him at the center of it so that He can make sense out of it all.  

We remember the parable of the Sower. (Mathew 13:1-23) Some seeds fell along the path and were eaten up by birds, some on rocky ground and grew but withered because there was not enough soil, some among thorns and were of course destroyed by them and others on good soil and bore fruit. When interpreting the parable Jesus said in summary to them that the only way to bear good fruit was to hear the word and understand it. Many at times some people start out strong in Christ. You hear things like He is now born again and very sober but soon you hear they have fallen out. The seed fell on rocky ground. When trials or tribulations came because of the word they quickly fell out. Why? Because they did not dwell in the word. The word is food to the spirit. We need to continually eat it to stay in faith. And it is not just hearing it but really trying to understand it. Because the power comes from understanding, believing, and applying it and not only remembering it.  

Another important key to maintaining your faith is prayer. It is in the place of prayer that we obtain the empowerment to live out the word of God. Jesus prayed, Daniel prayed, Jacob prayed etc.

We should always remember that trials will not last forever. They say birth pains are worse just before birth. When the suffering is at its peak hold on because your breakthrough is just around the corner.  

Prayer Point: 

Let’s pray for ourselves and brethren to remain in the lord also in times of trials and tribulations.
