Title: Encounter with the Word

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.( John 6:63 KJV)
The entrance of the word of God giveth light(Ps 119:130) and when His words enter into you, one of the outcome is that it gives you an encounter. My first encounter with the word was many years ago while studying the life of Joseph in the book of Genesis, as he turned away from his brethren in Gen 42:24 and wept, I suddenly lost control of myself as I also broke down and wept profusely until I was tired. It was later I realised that I had been brought into Josephโs experience and that encounter restructured my heart and I could forgive easily unlike before. That intervention was timely because it shaped my disposition to a lot of things afterwards.
The same word of God has two outlets or channels of expression: The spoken and the written word. Every time Jesus speaks a word unto a man, it is not ordinary because it carries the signature of heaven. Every of Jesusโs word were powered by the Spirit and when it enters into you, it gives you life. The spoken word of God releases an allocation of life to the believer and this was the case when the Lord accosted Saul who will later become an apostle. He got a new lease of life because he heard the spoken word from the Lord. The spoken word can also be prophecies spoken by the mouth of God to His prophets unto his people.
When we listen to the spoken word, it has a life carrying capacity that can be transmitted through the Spirit. That is the same thing that was told John the beloved in Rev. 19:10 that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. As long as it comes from Jesus, it carries life so much that it can replicate itself in another man if he believes it as a personal prophecy.
The second outlet is the written word. This are statutes, commandment and writings of old inspired by the Spirit of God. God was admonishing Joshua to settle with the book of the law and meditate therein day and night (Joshua 1:8). The letters of Apostle Paul unto the churches were inspired by the Holy ghost and therein lies deep spiritual knowledge that is still edifying the body of Christ till today. Also, the written word has that power to bring you into encounters.
For both outlets of the Word, the aim of every believer plugging into the word should be to see Jesus and know the Father more and the Holy Spirit who is the revelator of the word of God.
Prayer point:
Letโs thank God for the word and answers to prayers. Letโs pray for fresh and personal encounters with the word of God.
God bless you!
